RACELOGIC Traction Control Manual V3.0
Page 67
8. Spark cut
8.1 General
The spark cut traction control unit, works by monitoring the signal used by the coil too
generate a spark. If traction control is required this signal is interrupted so that
individual firing pulses are selectively missed out resulting in a reduction of engine
power.
8.2 Connecting the spark cut
Locate the negative side of the coil(s). Generally a coil will have two terminals, a
positive which will show a constant +12V and a negative which carries the signal that
the coil will amplify.
The traction control has two coil interface wires (pins 12 and 13). For a single coil
application join both these wires together and attach to the negative side of the coil.
For a twin coil application use both wires separately.
For spark cut sequential mode must be selected (Configuration tab).
8.3 RPM
No external RPM signal is required.
Note: the cylinder value in the traction control may need to be adjusted to get the
correct RPM reading.
